Transportation Demand Management

Transportation Demand Management (TDM) is a term used to describe efforts to manage our transportation infrastructure by managing how people use it (or whether they need to use it at all). It's a broad term that encompasses strategies like employee commuter benefits, transit-oriented development, zoning, shuttle buses, transit, bicycle and pedestrian programs and facilities, HOV lanes, traffic light timing, telework and other strategies. Many TDM efforts also reduce pollution from motor vehicles and help reduce the risks of climate change along with reducing traffic and traffic congestion, yielding environmental and economic benefits.

Steve Offutt has worked on TDM for the federal government at EPA, partnered with FORTUNE 500 companies, assisted regional transportation entities and worked for an innovative start up company called NuRide. He brings both public sector and private sector viewpoints to creating effective transportation management strategies, and he can help you design, create and implement TDM programs at any level.
